The Google Building is an existing 12-story commercial building in New York City with a gross floor area of approximately 2.9-million square feet. Google introduced is first flagship retail store in June 2021 including an all-glass sculpture "Imagination Station" to feature prominently. AVRO developed the structural concept and fabrication details for this cable-supported glass feature to accommodate floor movement in the base building structure using a hidden counterweight system. AVRO is the design structural Engineer of Record for all glass and metal sculpture system components, including tensioned cable systems, internal connections, support of modular screen system, plus attachments to framing and anchors to the base building structure.
