AVRO Consult Engineering, P.C. is a specialist structural engineering consulting firm in New York City. AVRO investigates and designs structures and enclosure systems of all types and sizes. Established in 2012 by Russell H. Davies, P.E., AVRO practices on the principal that sound engineering is the basis of successful projects. AVRO collaborates with owners, contractors and architects. AVRO is involved in projects from conception to completion, using conventional and non-conventional materials, geometries, tools and tectonics. Working from first-principles, AVRO’s understanding of project economic, constructability and architectural goals is at the core of our services.

Russell H. Davies, P.E. - Principal

Russell H. Davies, P.E. has 30-years in practice working alongside excellent clients and colleagues. Prior to founding AVRO in 2012, Russell completed a wide range of projects with firms based in Boston, New York and London. Russell received his Bachelor of Science with high honors from Northeastern University in 1993 and his Masters of Architecture from Yale University in 1999. Russell has lectured at numerous symposia and served on the teaching faculty at Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation from 2004-2016. Russell has been a member of ASTM E6.13 task group contributing to glass design standards.  In his free time Russell enjoys family, keyboards, and racing his motorcycles.
